This brute of a red delivers a smoky mix of plum sauce, cassis, nutmeg and mocha flavors, all framed by grippy tannins. Needs some time in the cellar to settle down.
|Perdriel is a hundred-year-old wine brand named after the well known region of Mendoza since the wine is made with grapes coming from this district of Lujan de Cuyo. Mendoza is Argentina’s main wine region, made up by a big high desert where plains, valleys and several mountainous ranges spread throughout the west of the territory. One of them is key for wine: the foothills, a very old formation (550 million years old) whose minerals abound in the soils where vine is cultivated.
Perdriel was one of the first estates planted at the foot of the Andes Mountains and on the south bank of Mendoza River. The terroir offers a combination of poor soils and cold air coming from the mountain that produces aromatic and concentrated white and red grapes, perfect for making powerful and elegant high-end wines.
As the years passed by, the brand grants this region national and international importance, making Perdriel a place in the world for international consumers.
More than a century ago, our ancestors could find out Perdriel’s soul, which together with modern techniques as well as precision viticulture, make able to understand in detail how this terroir works, what are the small things that make it unique and what is the management that results in unforgettable wines. Welcome to our estate and to the wines that result from this place.
