Distilled from Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Bacco, the 1985 vintage has a bold nose full of candied apples and hearty oak. The rich wet earth of Ravignan’s ancient chai rolls into the palate with umami, spice and mushroom alongside a satin, oily mouthfeel. Faint evergreen and orange peels linger in the finish for what seems a welcome eternity.
