The second iteration of this wine, Lot 2 serves up dense aromas of black licorice and dark fruit. Underpinning the ripeness and voluptuousness are flavors of mineral, graphite, cured meats and savory herbs. The mouth has a powerfull core of flavor and structure that gives long lasting texture with just enough grip. Despite its size, this mouth filling, rich wine is still nimble, tart and irresistible.
Wine Spectator 88 points - Gutsy and appealingly rustic, with accents of dried berry, underbrush, smoky herb and licorice. Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Viognier. Drink now through 2020. 6,000 cases made.

Antonio Galloni 90 Points - The Syrah-based NV Christo Lot 2 is arguably Marietta's best wine in terms of overall quality and value. A host of black cherry, plum, smoke and black pepper are pushed forward. Drink this rich, powerful Rhône blend over the next handful of years.
|Wine maker notes
|Our dad has a long history of honoring those he loves through wine. Now we’re able to do the same for him with a new blend in his favorite Rhone style. Christo, as Marietta called him, captures our father’s closeness to the earth, strength, enormity of heart, and unfailing gentleness. Comprised of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Viognier, this blend is only possible because of who our father is, and what he has taught us.
|Marietta Cellars, located just outside of Geyserville in Sonoma County, was founded by Chris Bilbro in 1978. In recent years Chris’s sons, Jake and Scot, representing the second generation, have taken over most of the responsibilities. Marietta Cellars wines are consistent, concentrated, complex and, most importantly, pleasurable.
”For over three decades one of the greatest values in dry California red wine has been the nonvintage kitchen sink blend from the Bilbro’s family-owned Marietta Cellars…This wine flies off retailers’ shelves, so smart consumers take note.” Wine Advocate
