| Bodegas Montecillo Gran Reserva 1998 |
The 1998 Gran Reserva, from a decent vintage, was aged for 24 months in French oak before being bottled in 2001. It is beginning to show some maturity in the glass with a brick red rim and mature fruit aromas of black fruit, cedar, and a whiff of licorice. The tannin is fully integrated and the flavor profile, consisting of smoke, herbs, currants and black cherry is attractively feminine. Drink this elegant wine over the next 4-6 years. |
